A Dream Come True

Submitted By: Ephraim Troyer

I grew up in the Amish community in Wayne County, Ohio until I was 25 years old. As a kid, I would watch these big rigs roll through whenever I was allowed to go to town with my father. And I enjoyed it so much that I continued watching them later in life when I was old enough to go to town on my own. I’ve always dreamed of driving one of those big rigs, even when I was as young as 7 years old.

When I was 22, I got married to my amazing wife, Sarah. After a few years, we made the decision to leave the Amish community and live life the way we saw fit. Then one day it hit me that now I’m not bound by the Amish community’s rules and I have the opportunity to make my trucking dream come true!

We now reside in Iowa, where my business partner and I have three trucks of our own on the road, as well as three owner operators leased to our company.

It has been a great challenge with the low freight prices lately, but it also has been a great learning experience. I love what I do between driving, dispatching and running a trucking business, but most of all I love to spend time with my amazing family, my wife and two sons.

Life is great. God bless,
